Returning to training in a COVID secure environment - June 2nd 2020

We want to safeguard all our learners throughout this process and so we are stripping back our provision, in line with government guidance, to ensure we can allow our learners to continue to train and be safe. These key measures that we are undertaking in order to be COVID secure are highlighted below. Risk assessments and maps to illustrate our plans can also be viewed on this page:
1. All sessions last no more than 2 hours
Level 3 sessions begin at 10:00 to enable learners who are local to avoid using public transport. Sessions end at 12:00. Sessions run from 13:00 to 15:00 for our learners who are children of key workers, vulnerable, or have indicated wellbeing issues from our weekly welfare calls home. Students are not being invited to attend an AM and PM session on the same day.
2. Maximum group size of 5
The maximum class size is 5 for the immediate future. Classrooms will be laid out in order to observe social distancing measures. Fitness sessions will take place outdoors and social distancing measures will be put in place. No pair/group contact will take place during fitness. Fitness equipment will be kept to an absolute minimum and only equipment that can be sanitised after use will be used.
3. New site entrance for Doncaster
Hull students should ring the bell, as normal on arrival at Wenlock Barracks. The main entrance gate to the Doncaster site will be closed and entrance is strictly only via the Town Moor Avenue gates on the back field. Entrance times are limited to 09:45 to 10:00 for the AM session and 12:45 to 13:00 for the PM session. View the graphics on this page to see how you'll enter and where you'll be expected to be if you are in a fitness session or a classroom session.
4. Sanitise on arrival
There will be a sanitising stations set up at the new entrance point on Town Moor Avenue for Doncaster and immediately inside Wenlock Barracks for Hull. All students must sanitise their hands on arrival and departure from our site.
5. Don't use door handles
We will be keeping all doors open inside the buildings. This will mean you won't have to touch handles. Avoid touching surfaces like banisters on the stairs when you arrive and depart. Tables, chairs, and surfaces will be sanitised before sessions take place. Follow signs that you see inside the building, which advise you what to do and what not to do.
6. Arrive prepared
Bring a full water bottle so that you do not need to enter the building to fill up if you are attending a PM fitness session. This will help you to 'minimise your footprint' around the site. For a classroom session, you must bring your own pen.
7. Daily evaluation and adaptation
We hold daily team meetings and we will evaluate and adapt our procedures on a daily basis to ensure that we keep standards of hygiene high and keep our learners safe. If you have anything to contribute to our plans then please do not hesitate to contact us on 01482 225 655 or 0114 303 5373.
8. Q&A session
On Friday 22nd May we will be holding a question and answer Zoom call at 11:00. Ask any questions about our plans to reopen and contribute your thoughts. The meeting PIN is 472 568 4142.
